The finalists for the Agrow Awards 2016 have been revealed with the release of this year’s shortlist. Close to 100 entries were received for the 14 categories being run this year for the ninth instalment of the coveted Awards. The categories were designed with a view to encouraging applications spanning the entire breadth of the industry ranging from R&D to marketing and manufacturing to services. As is evident from the shortlist, there is a broad diversity within the entries. Companies and institutions of different sizes and geographical locations are pitted against each other.
Each application was scored by Agrow’s panel of ten judges, enabling the Awards team to come up with the shortlist. It comprises 11 categories as entries for three categories, Best Industry Collaboration, Best Manager with Strategic Vision and Lifetime Achievement, will be judged confidentially and the winner announced on the Awards evening.
As in previous years, the most popular categories were: Best Marketing Campaign; Best Stewardship Programme; Best Public Outreach Programme; Best Supplier and Best Supporting Role. All five categories attracted almost double the entries eventually shortlisted. The headline category of Best New Crop Protection Product Or Trait saw five leading companies vying for the top spot.
The creativity and innovation permeating the industry and the enthusiasm to showcase that remain strong. We will provide details in our Agrow Awards Curtain Raiser in August on what these entries contained that helped them make it onto the list.
Eventual winners will be announced at the black tie event to be held in London on September 21st.
